Pallet racks are an important aspect of keeping your warehouse functional and organized.

Pallet racking, is designed to store materials on pallets (or skids). There are a variety of pallet racking systems. Storage of palletized materials in horizontal rows with multiple levels is delivered via pallet racking. Pallet racking creates level of increased density for storage.
Common pallet rack systems used include:
1. Drive-in as well as Drive-through pallet racking systems are storage rack configurations allowing a forklift to drive directly into a the bay. Drive-in pallet racking systems and a drive-thru pallet rack system are different if the bays have an entry at one end vs. both ends. Drive-in pallet racking systems for stores have a common entry and exit, however, drive-thru systems have entry points at both bay ends.
Drive-in racking systems have just one entrance and therefore use what is called a last in, first out storage method. (LIFO)
Because there is just a single entrance, the last pallet is the first one to be taken out.
Drive-thru storage systems have two different entry points and can therefore use a first in, first out storage method. (FIFO) Pallets are loaded in one end with a first in/first out storage method, then are pushed back to the opposite end, to be at the front of the row on the opposite side. This system is best for loading material when shelf life is of primary importance.
2. Push-back pallet rack systems help to organize space by depth rather than width reducing aisle space and increasing storage density.
3. Pallet racking flow systems provide high density pallet storage capability and utilizing depth for the increase of capacity.
High density pallet storage systems provide less access to all stock at any given moment, which is only a concern when the products stored on these pallet racks are dissimilar.
